Updating access records in vb6
If you are familiar with Excel, datasheets should be relatively easy to understand.
To maintain data integrity, the fields in an Access database are set to accept a specific type of data, such as text or numbers.
If you don't enter the correct data type, Access displays an error message.
There are several ways to update data in an Access database.
You add a record to your database when you have a new item to track, such as a new contact to the Contacts table.
I'm having difficulty getting past the idea of how to update a record in a Microsoft Access 2000 database file. OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=|Data Directory|\bin\MY_DATABASE.mdb" con. Open() sql = "SELECT * FROM client WHERE ID = 1" da = New Ole Db. I want the update method to work like that of the code snippet I provided above, or atleast something similar to that.
I have no problems inserting, deleting and creating new records in the database, but somehow it seems that there's more to updating a record than what i had expected.
